God's design for the local church involves the committed, servant leadership of a group of qualified men, whom the Bible refers to as elders. These men serve the church by providing spiritual direction, counsel, teaching, and leadership, under Christ and the accountability of the congregation. Downtown Mission Church has a team of elders, some of whom are dedicated to the full-time ministry of pastoring, and some of whom serve in a non-vocational way. We are blessed to have a team of men whose hearts are unified in a love for Jesus and Downtown Mission Church. Don't hesitate to reach out if you have any questions about the church or what it means to follow Jesus.
Pastor Josh HollandTeaching Pastor - WausauPastor Josh is a southern boy at heart who is slowly developing a midwestern accent. He moved from Tennessee to Wisconsin to pursue a career in television news. Shortly after moving to Wausau, God drew him to Downtown Mission Church and used the church's ministry to dramatically change his life and career plans. Through DMC's ministry, Pastor Josh developed a deep love for the Scriptures and desire to communicate what he sees and encounters while reading them. He is currently finishing his Master of Divinity at Reformed Theological Seminary. The Lord has blessed him with a smart and lively wife who holds a graduate certificate in Biblical and Theological Studies from Covenant Theological Seminary. Josh and Morgan are expecting their third child, which makes for an energetic and playful home. When Pastor Josh isn't preaching and shepherding, he likes finding outlets to release competitive energy like lifting weights, watching sports, and playing board games (too competitively!).

Dr. Christopher TillmanTeaching Pastor - Stevens PointPastor Chris is a native of central Wisconsin. He has a Bachelor's degree in Political Science and Public Administration from the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point, a Master's degree from Reformed Theological Seminary, and a Doctorate from The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, where his research focused on the role of suffering in John Bunyan's pastoral theology. His spare time is generally occupied by time with his family, scattered attempts at fixing vehicles, watching (and attempting to play) sports, and laughing at dry and sarcastic humor.
In 2025, he made the long and arduous trek to California and became a multi-day Jeopardy! champion. He and his wife have six children. Stevens Point Elders |
